Lovely food for a fair price. I recommend their homemade soda. My friends and I stopped there after visiting JFK's birthplace. It was a lovely stop for lunch. There was quick service and delicious food. It has a fun lively atmosphere and is a nice place to stop by for all ages.

Bagel chips to start served with cream cheese were very tasty and addictive. Reuben was good, was hoping for old school deli portions, got regular. Still good and filling. Perfect half-sours! My son got Nova on a Sesame bagel and it was perfect! The side of home made hash was unique and very delicious....surprise treat! Didn't see knishes on the menu... have to inquire?

Accommodated our party of ten within the estimated waiting time in the middle of the day on a Saturday! The food was delicious. I had the potato pancakes with salmon and dill sour cream. I enjoyed every single bite! I wish I had a second order to have for supper. I have to say, the drinks were also delicious and fresh! Several people at my table got cocktails and, not only did they look pretty, they tasted amazing too.Great place, worth the wait!

Zaftigs is a place I want to love but I find that I can't. The staff is great but have too many tables each to make one feel well served. Consistency is also an issue. I've never had anything bad, yet ordering the latkes several times had been hit or miss; they've come straight from the frier and been super fresh and delicately crispy and other times have been cold and over fried, approaching hockey puck status. Give them a shot, they may be worth it this next time.

I brought my coworkers here for a staff lunch. The restaurant was nearly full, but we were able to be seated quickly. Everyone was able to find a dish they were interested in, and seemed to feel that the food was good. The portions are generous. Our waitress was friendly, but we ended up needing refills and were not able to get them because the restaurant was so busy.

I frequent this outstanding restaurant many times because I enjoy the special air that is characterizes this place. The crew is exceptionally helpful and well trained. The service is extremely quick. Needless to say, the food you get is great. I came many times and I was always joyful. The pay is modest. I highly suggest this restaurant to to all.

We ate at zaftig's delicatessen this morning for breakfast. I had a Nova lox bagel with all the fixings (pictured). My girlfriend had avocado toast which also had some smoked salmon on top and a poached egg. Both meals were absolutely excellent, the service was very good, the coffee was also excellent. Highly recommended.

I had high hopes but in the end was disappointed. The matzoh ball soup was good (not great) but the corned beef sandwich had A LOT to be desired. The meat was tough and hard to chew. There was quite a bit of connective tissue still in it. It needed to be steamed a few more hours. Not a place I would go back to.

A great place for brunch, lunch or dinner. One of the most famous places for brunch in Brookline. Their signature sandwiches are really good. I tried the Reuben and it did not disappoint. Ask for the potato salad as your side dish, you will love it.Service was great and it's not the prices are reasonable. Expect a long wait if you go for brunch on the weekend.

Very impressed. Everyone's breakfast was plentiful and delicious, lots of unique specialties with our favorite the banana stuffed French toast! Line was long but was well managed and moved quickly!

The food was great! We ordered egg Benedict which was awesome and San Francisco Joe’s special which was good but a little dry. If you are going there in weekends, add 40 minutes wait time to your schedule.

Always the best Jewish deli in Boston. Old-country dishes like noodle kugel and cabbage rolls, generously filled sandwiches, hearty soups, amazing breakfast. Extra baked goods wait in the case to take along. Waitstaff have been on their game every time I've gone. Expect a line at busy times, but it is worth the wait.

We love going out. Yesterday we visited this superb restaurant which friends recommended to us. We passed a lovely experience there with fine cooking and an experienced stuff and a distinguished chef. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we shall surely come back soon. This has been the best takeout breakfast I've ever had. I got the banana stuffed french toast, lox with scramble eggs, the breakfast burrito, and the veggie quiche. The portions are shareable. I feel so lucky to have found Zaftigs for some food before getting out to see my husband pass by in the Boston Marathon. It was as just blocks from the course and we felt like we had to hurry so we didn’t miss him. No worries. The service was quick, friendly and our waitress got our meals just as ordered. There was lots of activity in the restaurant-my kind of place. Not noisy, just pleasantly busy. The food was great and very reasonably priced for our budget. Their menu was very extensive. I’m not big on breakfast, so I ordered lunch while the rest of the family enjoyed breakfast. We got a cupcake to go, as it was also my husband’s birthday. Our waitress wrapped it up for as carefully as if it were a newborn baby. She even added a candle! I’d go out if my way to eat here again while in the Boston area. Five stars from me!

This is a go to of mine in Coolidge corner with its solid Jewish offerings. It's always busy at brunch and lunch time so expect a wait. The matzo ball soup is delicious and latkes are as big as hockey pucks. The half sour pickles that accompany large deli sandwiches are reminiscent of NYC delis. It's not strictly kosher and if you're in love with your own Jewish family recipes, you may be disappointed, but if approximation is good enough you'll leave full and happy. I love the kasha varnishkes as they can be hard to find around town. Everything is delicious, service is prompt and the place is bustling with energy. The prices are a little high but it's worth it.

Wow! I will definitely make this spot a go to! Food is AMAZING and FRESH. Service is super friendly, great vibes, busy but comfortable! And the gentleman that was working the sandwiches was on point, every sandwich was made with care. Love everything about this place!

I love their potato pancakes and the bacon is always cooked the way I like it / some what crispy but still chewy. I also love their country fried steak!!!
